New Years.... 2014

My Daughter says I use the ellipsis punctuation to much... I love this mark, first of all I am not good with punctuation, so I feel I can get away with my less than perfect skills by just saying, dot, dot, dot! I really like using four dots...but I read where using to many dots is being superfluous, and that 3 dots is the standard...so three it is. Unless it is at the end of the sentence and I will use just one.

I am really excited about the New Year.....I love what Piper said," this grace is past and it is future. We are thankful for the past grace of the last year, and we are confident in future grace for the new year. He also said that for him the end of a year is like the end of his life. He quotes scripture...

Psalm 90:5,6,12
Thou dost sweep men away;like grass which is renewed in the morning:in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers. So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

This fall I took a class called " Perspectives.....World Christian Movement" it was an amazing experience. It opened my eyes and heart to the vision of Jesus. I had seen the bible as a self- help manual. It was when I realized that the bible is all about God the story of His glory! Of corse we all know that but do we read it as His vision... ( John 17:4)"I have glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work You gave me to do. Jesus' life purpose was to bring about Gods glory on earth. Throughout His life Jesus kept the vision of Gods greater glory before Him.  Now as I open His word and begin this new year, I read it with Him in my mind rather than what is in it for me! I now am living as His servant, asking how I can help Him with His global purpose....He has given me an invitation to join Him He has enlisted me ( a follower of Jesus to lead a life of Hugh significance. I now have a vision to live a life of purpose........................And with all those dots! I begin this year with His purpose in my mind and heart,

Prayer
Thank you Father for your lasting provision, that you oh God care for me and my family. Father, that you are a God of detail and so personal for each one of us. I welcome this New Year knowing that I have another opportunity to serve you and seek Your will. This journey you have set me on is overwhelming at times, the view is breathtaking as I look out into the future. Your Kingdom is at hand and as I tour this earth with your people my heart at times cries tears of sorrow over the lost. I become weary as the task looks daunting and so big. Yet God I know nothing is to big for You.
And Your word comforts me and gives me hope.
Amen
